CHICAGO, Dec 26 (Reuters) – Shares of U.S. department stores
jumped on Tuesday as Mastercard Inc said shoppers spent
over $800 billion during the season, more than ever before,
boosted by growing consumer confidence, rising employment and
early discounts.
