volatile session amid continued pledges of support for private
firms by Beijing, and as investors kept an eye on the outcome of
U.S. midterm elections.

up 6.93 points or 0.26 percent at 2,666.28.
** China’s blue-chip CSI300 index was up 0.42 percent,
with its financial sector sub-index higher by 0.2
percent, the consumer staples sector up 1 percent, the real
