China stocks slip on lingering virus worries

Shares in Shanghai ended a
three-day winning streak on Wednesday as worries persisted over
the spreading coronavirus epidemic, which has claimed more than
2,000 lives and weighed on business activity in the country.
** At the close, the Shanghai Composite index was down
0.3% at 2,975.40. The index rose in the previous three trading
days. The blue-chip CSI300 index was down 0.2%.
** CSI300’s financial sector sub-index rose 0.11%,
the consumer staples sector was up 1.
